It's all good

My study agent just called. Btw her name's Leong Ji Li, from Studylink Sdn Bhd. She damn efficient and has helped me with my Oz stuff heaps! I can't thank her enough. So anyhoots, if you're planning to go study at Oz, go find Ji Li. She'll be glad to help.

Okay. So guess what the call was about?? My student visa was just granted! Woot!!!

Oh and another thing.. some girl from Topman also called earlier this morning. She said that my black hoody has arrived! Double woots! Hmm.. I thought someone said one week? *rolls eyes*

I love it when things turn out right. LMFAO!

EDIT (4.o6 PM)

I quote my cousin's status on FB (she's Aussie btw):
Alice Fong i love those phone calls that come JUST at the right time.

What a coincidence, huh?

Follow the yellow brick road

I have exactly one month before I fly down to Oz. Yeah, you heard me read right.. ONE MORE MONTH!

Damn. Time really flies.

Part of me is stoked as hell! Trust me. I've been waiting for this moment of leaving the country for a bloody long time. Then the other part is obviously sad to *sobs* leave.

Sigh..

Roos from the hood

Just got back from my medical check-up. Apparently I'm normal, which is good. So now i just have to wait for my visa to be granted.

Went to OU after the check-up. I need more hoodies for the coming Europe trip and especially for Oz. Topman has some cheap, basic kangaroo ones in plain colors which I really like. Wanted the black hoody but their all out of stock. The only, and I repeat, ONLY outlet that still has it in stock is at Queensbay Mall in Penang! WTF?? I didn't know it was old stock.

So anyhoots, I asked them to send it over and apparently it'll take a week the least. Sigh. I hate it when things go wrong. But I told them to send it over anyways and that I'll come back to the store for it after Europe.

But uhm.. I ended up buying the one in grey :D

Sometime foods

Nicky, Lou, Iman and I baked cookies yesterday. It was tiresome (we had to drop each spoon of batter on onto the mat one-by-one, and there was a giant mixing bowl of it!) but was still fun heaps.

We made two types of cookies. Actually, Iman and I made the batter for the peanut butter and chocolate chip cookies. Nicky and Lou made the Famous Amos ones.

So from the peanut butter batter (Ooh, tongue twister!), I made a 'D' shaped cookie. And it turned out pretty good.

D-licious!

I wanted to take another picture of me biting the 'D' against a white background. Only place was the dining room. Sad thing was after the first try, I was wiping sweat from my cheek when the cookie broke. I forgot I was just holding the tip. It fell, hit a nearby chair and "exploded" all over the floor! Poor cookie :'(

The picture I took before the "explosion".

The cookie's "remains".
The bits I managed to save are on the red cover.

Oh and after dinner, we played Pictionary! I love that game! It was fun heaps too but Lou and I kept getting the difficult words. We lost. Duh!

Drama king

What a wacko night!

Just got back from Alex's party at Iman's place and man, the drama was insane I tell you! But sorry. Not bothering to go into the crazy details.

Honestly though, aside from the drama, it was all still pretty fun. So another party like this one minus all the hooha would be awesome! Anyone willing to organize?

Hokkienland

Penang was AWESOME!!!

Well pretty much la, aside from the moments of drama here and there. But whatevs, I had fun heaps!

The beach, especially, was the best! We stayed at this dodgy but still comfy traveler's lodge that's right opposite Batu Ferringhi beach. So we could go to the beach whenever we wanted, 24/7. Our first night itself, we sat at the beach bar drinking and chatting till almost 3am! So fun.

Oh and the food was great too, of course. I ♥ Penang hawker food la seriously. Cheap and so damn good. What else can a foodie ask for? Haha.

Speaking of food, I drank my fill of ambra asam juice there. Haiya ambra, ampula or kedongdong, whatever you wanna call it la. But man, I love that drink. Wonder why they don't have it in abundance here in KL like they do in Penang. Such a disappointment.

Anyhoo, can't wait to do another trip with friends again. They really are very fun. Man, I'm excited already. Woot!

Heading north

Daymn! Alex just called me and wtf the Penang trip starts tonight! Well technically la cause we'll be hanging out till 4am, which is when we'd planned to leave.

I can't believe I forgot all about it. I was so stoked to go. How could I have forgotten?? Shit. And I haven't packed nothing! ZOMG! This is the first time ever I'm packing last minute. I bet I'll forget something.

Okay. Gonna go pack. Bye.

4 in the morning

The Penang trip is finally confirmed. Yipadee-doo-dah-yay!

It's gonna be five of us: me, Lou, Nicky, Alex and Iman (She's a new friend. And she's from Maldives. Sweet!) We're going this Friday and will be back Sunday. Now for the shocker.. we're leaving at 4am. Yes, 4 in the pagi! No joke.

Yeah, my friends are crazy, I know. But that's why I love them. Cue: Aawww! :D

I'm so stoked! Woot!

Pentheraphobia

That's the fear of mother-in-laws. I was curious whether such a fear exists. So I googled it and apparently it does.

So I watched Monster-in-Law with my mum this afternoon. It was one of those special Mother's Day movies. Plus I had always wanted to watch it but never got to.

I thought the cat-fights and its results were bloody hilarious, especially the swollen lips. Cause uhm.. well I can relate to that. Used to wake up on some days with swollen lips when I was younger. Dunno why it happens, though.. it just does but very irregularly. Maybe it's some allergic reaction too, but yeah, was some random shit. But obviously mine wasn't as swollen as that la. DUH! Okay, I think I should shut up about that.

Anyhoo, my favorite was Ruby, the assistant. She actually has the balls to talk back and bang some sense into that uncontrollable biatch of a mother-in-law! Wanda Sykes plays Ruby and she's one of my favorite actresses and comedians.

Btw I found a second Monster-in-Law poster:

I like this one better la. The tagline's obviously funnier and I think it's somewhat more easily understandable. Okay whatever. Bye.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

Even if sometimes we don't show it, we do actually love you.

Shit happens, sometimes it sucks

Just got back from my church's Family Day. We had it at the Taman Bukit Maluri open field. Was tonnes of fun! And to think I told them I wanted to help out with the telematch instead of playing. They didn't let me of course. No regrets there.

Plus I really thank God that the Penang trip was postponed or I wouldn't have been able to go. Some things do happen for a reason and it's nice when the reason's good.

So I was in the Turtle group. They made me leader, which I wasn't surprised of considering I was the oldest guy there. My group had 2 guys, 2 girls, one grandma, and 2 little boys. Pretty odd group, I know. But hey, we won consolation. It's not first prize, but not too bad for the odd group huh?

Things I didn't like? The weather was hot balls at one point. Man, I hate the heat! It makes me sweaty and sticky like that.

Also the last race had one of each of the team members' ankles tied up. We had to run half the field and the top three teams get extra 10 points each. Cause I was the leader, I was first in line and had one of the dead knots tied to my ankles.

That's when shit happened. During the race, that knot got tighter cause some dumbo beside me (who wasn't even supposed to be racing in the first place) kept on stepping on the string when we ran. And that fcuking hurt like dog! It was so tight at one point, paranoia made me think the string had started cutting into my skin. Note to self.. never again take part in a multi-legged race, nor a 3-legged race for that matter.

Parsletongue

Guess what I've found..

Another trailer for Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince! Woot! I'm such a Potter freak, I tell you. Lol.

This trailer's simpler la. I guess you can say it's more straight to the point. But however it is, it's still another awesome trailer that is causing me to get more and more stoked on watching the bloody movie! So yeah man. Can't wait! Can't wait! CAN'T WAIT!

Freak :P

Calendar girls

I'd just watched The Secret Life of Bees.. one of the few movies I'd recently downloaded.

Best thing about this movie is that it stars 2 of my favorite actresses: Dakota Fanning and Queen Latifah. I think they are awesome actors! I've enjoyed every movie they'd ever acted in. They're brilliant, I tell ya.

Oh, and I'm also a big fan of Jennifer Hudson since her Idol days and then when she was in Dreamgirls. So yeah, that's another plus.

The story line's pretty good too. And it's one of those movies that exposes the true cruelty of the orang putihs towards the black community back then. Damn, they were cruel! Bloody racists bastards! I admit that I do get racist sometimes, but you don't see me walking around with a bat in my hand or just randomly finding fault and beating people up.

Man, suck up and live with it!

Time bomb tits

A few of my movies had finished downloading last night, just as I had hoped. Woot! At least I won't be bored for the next couple of days.

I'd just watched one of them, Driving Lessons. It's such a quirky movie. And I just enjoy movies set in the UK cause then the characters would talk with that British or Scottish accent. Lol.

My favorite was Evie. She's is so vulgar, and sneaky, and well.. quirky. Loved her. Kudos to Julie Walters! But that slouch! My gawd! She could pull off acting as the Hunchback of Notre Dame with that. I really don't understand how people could stand slouching like that. Just makes me wanna smack it straight!

By now you must be wondering why the title? Right? You see there's this scene where Evie and Ben (Rupert Grint) had a small tiff. To cut the explanation short, Evie then said she had an untreatable condition, so Ben begs that she explains. And she said:

"To spare you the details, my tits have turned into time bombs. Doctors gave up treating me last year and my surgeon says it's the worst case he's ever seen."

So yeah. Haha!

Okay. I am freakin' starving and my mum's bought us all Mee Jawa for dinner. Yay! Gonna go eat. Bye.

Driving Lessons

Seventeen years of living in an absurdly conservative and traditional household with his highly-strung and overbearing mother and quiet, mild mannered vicar father have taken its toll on young Ben. However, Ben's world is turned upside down when he's employed by an eccentric retired actress Evie. Vulgar, dignified and childish all at once, she certainly is not the kind of person Ben expected when job-hunting. Evie enters Ben's life with a cataclysmic force, whisking him away on a series of adventures from camping, to performing Shakespeare in the garden, to attending the Edinburgh festival--where he finally meets a girl much nearer his own age. Evie's unconventional and often downright bizarre behavior challenges Ben's beliefs, and forces him to confront the very idea of who he wants to be.

Noons on snooze

GAAARRGH!!! My life is officially boring! For most of the past month, I've been bumming at home from noon till night. All day I'm either on the telly or on my laptop.

That's what I get for only having to work less than 4 hours every morning. Okay, time for a little boasting, just bare with me. Hehe. I look after 3 year olds at my mum's kindy from 8am till 11.45pm and I'm paid RM500 a month. If that ain't easy money, I dunno what is.

So anyways I do have tons of fun with the kids then, but after lunch, it's a 100% pure boredom! At least the telly's bearable (that is if there are decent programs on), but after surfing websites and Facebook-ing for several hours there really is nothing more to do. Plus I do that every day. So yeah, of course it gets boring. And I really never expected the internet to ever get boring, you know.

Now I'm just counting on my movie downloads to save me. But they're taking forever! A couple of them are almost done, though. If they're done by tonight then I can watch them tomorrow. Yes! Fingers crossed.

Weapon X

Just got back from Cineleisure. Was there with Adrian, Christy, Amber and Steph to watch the long awaited Wolverine movie. I was stoked all week! Was literally counting down the days. Serious.

And man, if I say so myself, the movie was some good shit! I love action-packed movies. More so when the movie's based on one of my favorite comics.

One thing's for sure, this movie really cleared up some things I'd previously wondered or never understood. So now I know. Plus some of them were pretty shocking actually. Like the fact that Wolverine and Sabertooth are real-life brothers. I was like: Shit! So didn't expect that.

Anyways, we also had dinner at TGIF, which was awesome! I love the food at Fridays. How I wish its prices are a tad cheaper, though.

EDIT (May 5, 2009 - 11.30 PM)

ZOMG!!! I just found out from IMDB's synopsis that, considering this is the last X-Men movie, there's actually a bonus scene after the credits! Daymn!

Well, click here if you wanna check out what happened. Just scroll all the way down to the end of the synopsis, brace yourself and read the last couple of sentences. Shocked?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
X-Men Origins: Wolverine

X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the story of Logan a.k.a. Sun and Suds

Bloody hell! It's a fcuking holiday for crying out loud! And it's during holidays that people who can afford to, would sleep in cause they'd purposely slept late the night before.

But no! In came the brat this morning to wake me up.. on mummy's orders! And why?? Cause she wants me to wash the damn car! Plus it was around 10-ish at the time and the sun was already up and blazing. I have enough tan lines, thank you very much!

Man, this is one of the reasons why I hate having my own car sometimes. Especially to have to wash it on your own, and in my case in the fcuking hot sun. It's pretty hard work.

But I did the damn washing anyways. Cause if I didn't, I'll never hear the end of it from the mother.. oh wait, and the father too. Welcome to my damn life!

By the way, Happy Labor Day!

Darren out.

EDIT (11:16 AM):

The brat just came in and said we're going for high tea. Hmm.. guess that's nice enough to make me forget this morning's incidents. Gotta go get ready. Bye.
